New York CNN —A billboard truck drove near Harvard’s campus Wednesday displaying the names and photos of Harvard students whose organizations signed a statement blaming solely Israel for the deadly attacks by Hamas. Some students and their groups have since distanced themselves or withdrawn their endorsements from the statement amid an intense backlash inside and outside of Harvard. A conservative nonprofit said it organized the truck featuring the virtual billboards with students’ names and images under a banner that reads: “Harvard’s Leading Antisemites.” It also published names online. “We will continue to reject the PSC’s statement in the strongest terms — and demand accountability for those who signed it,” the statement added. In the wake of the mounting backlash, at least eight of the original 34 co-signing Harvard student groups had withdrawn their signature from the statement as of Wednesday afternoon, according to the Harvard Crimson student newspaper.

BALTIMORE (AP) — Baltimore police have asked for the public’s help identifying a group of people seen in the area of a shooting at Morgan State University that left five people injured. Preliminary evidence indicates the shooters were targeting one person, who wasn’t among the victims, Worley said. The shooting unfolded around 9:30 p.m., shortly after a coronation ceremony for this year’s Mister and Miss Morgan State in the campus auditorium. Four are Morgan State students. Previous Morgan State homecoming celebrations have also been subject to violence.

CNN —Police at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill responded to an “armed and dangerous person on or near campus,” according to an alert from the university on Monday. A witness on campus told CNN they were locked down in their building and saw armed officers searching campus. The UNC Hospital also has received no patients from the scene, a spokesperson told CNN. CNN —Two former New Mexico State University (NMSU) men’s basketball players filed a lawsuit on Wednesday against former head coach Greg Heiar, three former NMSU players, assistant head coach Dominique Taylor and the NMSU Board of Regents, citing alleged hazing and sexual assault incidents within the team. Benjamin and Odunewu say they reported the alleged incidents to the NMSU coaching staff but that no action was taken, according to the lawsuit. “This action is clearly needed, especially after receiving additional facts and reviewing investigation reports related to the hazing allegations involving student-athletes on the team,” New Mexico State University Chancellor Dan E. Arvizu said in a statement to CNN in February. At the time, New Mexico State University said it was hiring “another law firm to conduct another internal investigation” according to the lawsuit. According to the lawsuit, Benjamin and Odunewu will not be a part of the team next season.

The university police identified a student, Christopher Darnell Jones as the suspect, and said multiple agencies were engaged in an active search. Jones was described as wearing a "burgundy jacket, blue jeans and red shoes", and may have been driving a black SUV, according to the authorities. Frat parties were suspended at Cornell University after at least four students reported being drugged and one described being sexually assaulted at fraternity-affiliated off-campus houses, officials said Monday. The university police department and authorities in the city of Ithaca, where the Ivy League school of nearly 23,000 students is located, are investigating, the statement said. The school statement said the alleged crimes reportedly occurred off-campus at buildings affiliated with registered fraternities. The school officials did not name the fraternities. The statement added that there will be no parties until school staff members and student leaders are confident they can occur safely.
Cornell University has suspended all fraternity parties and social events. The decision comes after an alleged sexual assault and four reports of drugging at off-campus locations. In the statement, the university said police and Cornell administrative investigations are underway and the university is providing support services to those impacted. Cornell University Police department referred Insider's questions to the university's media relations department which did not respond before publication. Cornell University Interfraternity Council and the Ithaca Police Department did not respond to Insider's request for comment.
A 20-year-old man was arrested in connection with a shooting Sunday near Virginia's James Madison University that injured eight people. Police announced Fleming's arrest at about 4:30 p.m., hours after the shooting in the 1500 block of Devon Lane, less than a mile from the university in Harrisonburg. Shots were fired around 2:20 a.m. into a crowd at an outdoor gathering near the university, police said. Five of the injured were treated at Sentara RMH Medical Center and three others were transported to University of Virginia Medical Center, authorities said. James Madison University Police Chief Anthony Matos said in a statement Sunday that the victims “are not students currently enrolled."
The University of North Carolina at Charlotte has apologized after a video was posted online showing a Sikh student who was handcuffed for carrying a kirpan, a religious article that resembles a knife. “Further investigation showed the item was a kirpan, an article of faith in Sikhism.”Video of the incident was posted on the Twitter account @thatsamaan, and its user identified himself as the student in question. You want me to take the whole thing off?” the student asked. The police officer told the student to stand up and the student asked, “What are you doing to me, bro?” before the officer told him he was being detained. The Twitter user tweeted on Saturday that he did receive his kirpan back.
